A Game-Changing Investment
As the PE Lead at Ballifield Primary School, I can confidently say that installing the ActivAll Active Wall has been one of the most valuable investments we’ve made with our Sports Premium funding. Five years on, it continues to be a firm favourite with pupils and staff alike, and its impact on physical activity, mental wellbeing, behaviour, and school community engagement has been truly outstanding. Definitely a great investment.
Boosting Physical Activity and Engagement
Physically, the ActivAll wall has significantly boosted children’s activity levels. It’s in constant use during break and lunchtime, with pupils of all ages queuing up to challenge themselves and beat their personal bests. The fast-paced, reaction-based games get hearts pumping, improve coordination, and help children develop core fitness and agility in a fun, inclusive way. Even pupils who are typically less engaged in traditional sports find themselves drawn to ActivAll because of its game-like, interactive nature. It’s active play disguised as fun, and it works brilliantly.
Supporting Mental Wellbeing
Mentally, we’ve seen huge benefits too. The ActivAll wall supports positive mental health by providing an outlet for stress and excess energy. Children return to class more focused and ready to learn. It also promotes teamwork, resilience, and confidence as they strive to beat scores and cheer on their classmates. Teachers often use it during lesson times as an energising brain break or part of active learning sessions or included in PE warm ups.
Improving Behaviour and Focus
Behaviour across school has improved as a result of the structured, engaging play ActivAll offers. Break and lunchtimes are smoother and more purposeful, and children are more settled when they return to the classroom. For some children who need more breaks from the classroom, it has been a great way to release emotions and pent up energy in a positive way and a constructive outlet for their energy.
Bringing Competition to Life
We’ve also used ActivAll to inject excitement into our intra-school competitions. From inter-class battles to house team contests, the wall has helped create a healthy competitive spirit and school pride. It’s even featured in friendly competitions against other local schools, giving our children a chance to showcase their skills and connect with wider school communities.
Engaging Parents Through Play
A particular highlight has been using ActivAll to boost parental engagement. Parents have loved having a go themselves. Seeing their children so engaged and enthusiastic has strengthened home-school connections and helped parents understand the importance of physical activity in a fun, practical way.
Built to Last
In terms of durability and reliability, our ActivAll wall has been outstanding. Five years on, it still works perfectly with no issues whatsoever. It’s clearly built to last and has stood up well to daily use by energetic children in all weathers. If there were to be any issues, I am certain the friendly and reliable team at ActivAll would act swiftly to resolve them.
A Whole-School Win
ActivAll has been a fantastic addition to our school. It supports physical and mental wellbeing, improves behaviour, enhances the PE and playtime offer, and brings our school community together. It’s been a brilliant use of Sports Premium funding, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to any school looking to invest in something impactful, inclusive, and long-lasting.
